TRAVELING UGANDA!

Most of our miles of travel were spent on roads you see here; however, this shot is really in the "bush," which you see in the second photo as we follow the pastor to his church. Although most roads were dirt, they were not all through the bush.

RIVER NILE

We had to cross the River Nile on the ferry to get to Moyo District. As we waited for the ferry, the woman in the top photo carried her bag of clothes to the water's edge and dipped the basin in the river to wash the clothes. I thought it was a lovely picture. In the second photo, Tonny, Akimu and Henry wait for the ferry.

MOYO DISTRICT

Large group in Moyo District which is in northern Uganda, three miles from border of Sudan.
Books will always gather a crowd of children. I walked outside while Akimu was teaching and they quickly ran up to see the book. NO one spoke English and I didn't have a translator but it didn't matter. They loved seeing the pictures and they knew some words---God, angels, etc.

OYAM DISTRICT

These women were greeting us as we drove up. First picture is of the Baptist Church where we met.

Drama Presentation in Oyam

Some of the young people put on a drama/song presentation. The two dressed in grass costume are demons; Jesus is in the white robe. They are entering the area where they will perform

OYAM DISTRICT

People in Oyam have been gradually returning to their homes after the conflict with the rebels which seriously affected their area. Food is scarce and there did not seem to be much growing there. We took food to them for the day's gathering from Apac. But they were so happy to see us. There were about 60 there, not counting those who were preparing the food. So many of these men want to be in Bible college or seminary. Some are attending the Ugandan Baptist Seminary; others are in a Bible college in Apac.

June Book Trip

Top picture was at True Love Baptist Church in Apac; the church was constructed with the assistance of a group from Amarillo Texas a few years ago. Before our meeting started with pastors, I was able to read the first book to a group of over 100 children who gather every Saturday for a day of instructive activity. Second picture shows our group of pastors. bottom two pictures were taken at a Baptist church under construction in Kaberamaido--the group shot and a shot inside during the teaching.
